Huge Sycamores at Peppersauce Canyon

So for an excursion we took grandmas old chevy into the Catalina mountains to Peppersauce canyon where you can see these huge Sycamore trees. They were really beautiful. Arizona is so dry and warm, but it's cool and wet down in this canyon. Here is the rest of my photos.

My uncle told me that they have these huge washes of rain that can just really pickup speed and destroy things. A guy built his house in the wrong place and a big flood totally distroyed his it and they found him decapitated a distance away. Only happened a year ago.

I think it would be fun to mountain bike around here sometime. Or maybe camp under the Sycamores.

Lew and Elizabeth love to paint down in this canyon. They have quite a few watercolors. One of Lews shows Elizabeth with her easle in the foreground dwarfed by a huge Sycamore.

Thanks Lew and Liz for the adventures! And i hope you got that tire plugged.

Back from Tucson

OK. Back from Tucson. The biggest gem show you can imagine and a nice visit with Uncle Lew and Elizabeth.

We were going to all the fossil and mineral shows in town and decided to take a break for some mexican food. My uncle knows of a great little mexican place in the heart of Tucson that plays loud music and serves it fast and authentic. They also have some incredible lemonada. Mango and strawberry. Really fresh. Not too sweet.

So we pull up to a stop light on our way downtown and here's this guy. Nice job brother. I bet that Macaw loves it. More Tucson posts to come.

Molly is back and tonsilless!

this is an audio post - click to play

Molly is back and her tonsils have been removed. She is still capable of writing and doing other things that she did before they were removed. She even looks the same. I am amazed. Be sure to check out the audio post for how she sounds now.

Innerchi Chakra Jewelry

Kate and I have been working on this line of jewelry and it's marketing for over a year. It's called innerChi chakra jewelry. It's unbelievable how much work goes into it. The idea, the jewelry design, crafting the prototypes, the marketing concepts and copy, packaging, logos, photography... the list goes on. That's why ideas and concepts are king because your just never going to put a ton of work into something that is never going to find a market.

The jewelry itself is really great quality. She went through so many rounds of trying to cut out those little lotus petals from sheets of metal for her prototypes. Most people really have no idea what goes into making handmade jewelry. Then after you pour yourself into something you put it out there for the world to either embrace or rip to shreds. I can understand why artists often make terrible business people. Thanfully Kate and I make a good team.

On a totally positive note we've had such great feedback from people that have bought and are wearing the jewelry. We're also experiencing a groundswell of interest from stores after kate had an article written about her an her new jewelry in New Age Retailer magazine. It goes out to 10,000 new age stores, y0ga studios and the like. We've had quite a few reqests now for our catalog and they keep coming in. Kate sent ten out last week with a sample piece of jewelry and packaging. Two of the shopowners were so excited they are putting in orders.

We are confident of the success because it's selling here in at Kindered Spirit in Wards corner which is really not the best location for a New Age store, but despite of that it does well. I'm sure I'll have more blogs to come on this subject. Not to shamelessly plug the jewelry, but it does make a great gift for anyone that does yoga or that is into New Age stuff. You can read more about the chakras on the website innerchi.net.

Munich

We went to go see Munich last night. I'm always excited to see anything Steven Spielberg. I went with Kate and Aimee. Kate hated it and Aimee coughed like crazy because it was one of those itchy coughs. I liked it. The moral of the story I think is that killing never stops. It's necessary madness. Another big concept is home. You have to pay a big price for home.

It's like an oceans11 team assembled to hunt down the planners of the Munich Olympic massacre. They find them and then bomb the fuck out of them. Terrorists meet terror. That shit is scary too. A gun fight is one thing.. it's a whole different thing to have everyone you know scared shitless to answer the phone or go to bed or start the car because your buddy just got ripped to shreds doing the same shit you do every day.

Exciting Thursday!!

Today has been another great day at Raoust and Partners. We went out to Mexican and talked about the show Lost. I know nothing about it so I was kind of -----.

But Charlie has been like a mexican jumping bean thinking of new ideas. Today he bought a domain for a new viral concept that could be really fun.

Patty got a sports bra. Yeah Patty maybe it wasn't a good idea to blog this, but since your doing kickboxing you can fend off any comments with a sidekick... or maybe a roundhouse kick. Haaaiiiiiaaaa!!

And I'm drinking coke out of a big Starbucks mug. Crushed ice and all. Their right about this Starbucks brand. You just feel all chic and chit..

aight wordsss to Ellen for another day of putting up with us...

Ellen writes. Molly gets her tonsils out.

This week Ellen McBride is taking the place of Molly MacLaren while she has her Tonsils taken out. Ellen's sister Patty works here at Raoust and Partners too as an art director. This is my exciting news for the week. Now I think I'll go home and walk bandit and watch another movie I rented from Netflix. Man I tried to watch Passion of the Christ again last night and the scene where they beat the crap out of him makes me sick every time. I thought I'd be numb to it the second time around, but when you start seeing that graphic brutality it's just sickening.

I guess Molly is ok. She called a few times today and Patty said "What are you doing talking Molly..you need to rest"

And that's the skinny as I see it this very exciting Wednesday.

My first blog

I don't have anything of interest to post here yet, but I will. Oh yes..
